Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) Standards

Introduction

Positivity Outward is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all users. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These standards define our approach to preventing, detecting, and responding to CSAE content and behavior in compliance with applicable laws and Google Play requirements.

1. Definition of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)

CSAE includes any content or behavior that:

  • Depicts, promotes, or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation.
  • Involves real or simulated sexual exploitation of minors.
  • Encourages grooming or solicitation of minors for sexual purposes.
  • Shares or distributes images, videos, or other media of child sexual exploitation.

We adhere to definitions provided by international standards, such as those set by INTERPOL and UNICEF.

2. Prohibited Content and Behavior

We strictly prohibit:

  • Sharing, uploading, or distributing any media that depicts CSAE.
  • Soliciting, grooming, or engaging in communication with minors for sexual purposes.
  • Inappropriate interactions between adults and minors that could lead to exploitation.
  • Any content that sexualizes minors, even if the content is fictional or generated.
  • Any attempt to use the platform to facilitate CSAE activities or networks.

3. Prevention Measures

  • User Education: We provide clear guidelines for all users on appropriate behavior and content.
  • Content Moderation: Our platform uses automated and manual moderation systems to detect and remove CSAE content.
  • Community Guidelines: We prominently display community guidelines that outline prohibited CSAE content and behavior.
  • Age Verification: We ensure users meet age requirements for accessing our platform.

4. Detection and Reporting Mechanisms

  • Mentor Training: Mentors are adult users of the app that undergo screening and training before they can see accounts and content of minor mentees.
  • Manual Moderation: Our platform relies on trained moderators who review content to ensure compliance with our CSAE standards. Moderators actively monitor user activity and content submissions.
  • User Reporting: A dedicated “Report” button allows users to easily report content or behavior that they believe violates our CSAE standards.
  • Clear Reporting Process: Each report is promptly reviewed by our moderation team, who investigate and take appropriate action.

5. Response Procedures

When CSAE content or behavior is detected or reported:

  1. Immediate Removal: Content that violates CSAE standards is removed immediately.
  2. Account Action: Offending accounts are suspended or permanently banned.
  3. Reporting to Authorities: We report CSAE violations to relevant law enforcement and child protection organizations, including NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children).
  4. Preservation of Evidence: We preserve relevant data to support law enforcement investigations.

6. User Support and Resources

7. Compliance and Review

  • Regular Audits: We conduct regular audits of our platform’s policies and systems to ensure they effectively address CSAE risks.
  • Policy Updates: These standards are reviewed and updated at least annually or whenever new risks or legal requirements arise.

Conclusion

Positivity Outward is dedicated to creating a safe environment free from child sexual abuse and exploitation. We enforce these standards rigorously and cooperate fully with authorities to protect minors and prevent exploitation.
